Ongoing Incident Disrupts Coleraine Bus Boarding

Bus passengers are advised to board services at the front of the station on Railway Place following an incident earlier this morning.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 09:24 this morning, Thursday 6 March, following reports of an RTC in the Railway Place area, Coleraine. In response, emergency teams were promptly deployed.

In a statement, a NIAS spokesperson said, "NIAS despatched 1 Emergency Crew, a Rapid Response Paramedic and the Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board were also tasked to the incident.

"Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital by Air Ambulance."

A Translink spokesperson added, “We can confirm an incident has occurred involving a car at Coleraine Bus & Rail Centre this morning. Emergency services were called to the scene and we are assisting the PSNI with their enquiries. Translink services are currently departing from the front of the station.”

Police say that the injuries of a woman taken to hospital are serious but not believed to be life-threatening at this time.
