Feb 05, 2025
Two pioneering female entrepreneurs from Northern Ireland have each secured a £75,000 grant after being named winners of the Innovate UK Women in Innovation Award.
Bridgeen Callan, the Ballycastle-based founder of KLAS Therapeutics, received accolades for her work on a low-cost, non-invasive treatment targeting aggressive skin cancer. In a similar vein, Belfast's Róisín Hyde, the founder of NoMAD, was recognised for her transformative contributions to sustainable construction.
The award, which spotlighted 50 female entrepreneurs selected from 1,452 applicants, comes with not only a financial boost but also comprehensive support. Both winners are set to benefit from bespoke business coaching and a range of networking, role-modelling, and training opportunities.
