Archaeological Human Remains Discovered Outside Ballymoney

Human remains discovered on land near the Lisconnan Road area of Ballymoney on Friday, 7th March, have been determined to be archaeological, according to police.

Following the initial discovery, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) conducted a thorough search of the area on Saturday, 8th March 2025.

"Our investigation to date has indicated that these remains are archaeological," a PSNI spokesperson told us in a statement.

Local residents reported that the remains were found in a field adjacent to the Lisconnan Road. The discovery prompted immediate police attention, with forensic teams attending the scene.

The PSNI has confirmed to Causeway Coast Community that enquiries are ongoing.
